While photographing the people in Portobello Road I tried to capture the feel and culture of the market. This market is known for being the home to quite wacky and interesting performers and residents. During this project I learnt that Portobello market is a very diverse place. The performers range from steel drummers to jazz and country musicians. I also learnt that the street performers are the life of the market as they create a buzzing atmosphere whether they are mime artists or musicians. I think that I successfully captured the feel of the market while photographing the residents and performers as I showed a wide range of people but to improve my project I could of photographed the stall owners as they also play a big part in the market.

I also tried to capture the atmosphere of the market by photographing the stalls. Whilst looking through the pictures of the stalls I realised that most the market is antique items like old furniture and sport equipment or British souvenirs like famous street signs. There was also a lot of stools selling old cameras and camera equipment. When I was walking around there was also a lot of photographers which makes it seem like this market is well known in the photography scene. I feel like I successfully captured the life of the market
